Milestone Infrastructure, a part of M Group Services’ Transport Division, is pleased to be supporting Wiltshire Scrapstore, an award winning environmental and community charity, by moving their heavy warehouse stock in preparation for a much-needed carpark expansion.
Richard Scammell, Tractor Driver, Robert Johnston, Parish Steward, and Tom Price, Social Value & Communications Advisor all on Milestone’s Wiltshire highways contract, braved the rain at Lacock on Friday 23 February to move a mixture of wood, metal and plastic scrap.
The Milestone team also built and fitted metal racking in the charity’s containers to help with storage and organisation. This work is essential to make space in the car park and surrounding area by securely storing scrap resources that would otherwise go to landfill.
Glynis Cosgrave, Assistant Director at Wiltshire Scrapstore and Resource Centre, said: “Wiltshire Scrapstore urgently needed some extra pairs of hands to help Kate, our Warehouse Manager move our huge quantity of donated materials, in readiness for our storage facilities to be re-sited in March.
“Tom got in touch and a week later arrived at our charity with a brilliant team of helpers! They worked solidly, despite the wind and the rain and have made a huge difference to what was a daunting project. As a charity, we have minimal staff and rely heavily on our fantastic volunteers. The warehouse is one area that desperately needs more pairs of hands, so Tom's offer of help immediately gave us hope that the project would be finished in time for the planned move. We are so grateful to Milestone, Tom and the team. They really have made a huge difference to our charity and proves that community really does matter.”
We’re proud to be giving Wiltshire Scrapstore the support needed to continue delivering for the community. At Milestone, we recognise the fantastic work this charity does for local schools and the community, and we’re pleased to help them prepare for the site upgrades.
