Milestone Infrastructure is proud to have been awarded a five-year contract to deliver local highways maintenance services to Wiltshire Council.
The contract team will be making Wiltshire’s highways more resilient by maintaining bridges, verges, carriageways and footways. Works will also include gully and drain cleaning, pothole repairs, sweeping and winter and emergency maintenance works.
In addition, Milestone Infrastructure will also be employing 20 Parish Stewards dedicated to delivering small local highways priority works in the towns and parishes.
Milestone Infrastructure’s street lighting experts will also be delivering and managing Wiltshire’s street lighting requirements. The team will be offering sustainable, low energy and cost-efficient lighting ensuring that roads and pavements are well-lit for local communities.
As part of Milestone Infrastructure’s commitment to social value, the project team will be working closely with Wiltshire Council, delivering benefits to the local economy and engaging with disadvantaged groups.
The contract will be recruiting a Social Value and Communications Manager who will lead community outreach projects and manage stakeholder engagement while creating and implementing a social value plan specific to work in Wiltshire.
Milestone Infrastructure will also be recruiting in the community with 95% of people being local residents.
Also, the team will be engaging with people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) as well as care leavers to offer employment and training opportunities.
This contract has a value of at least £80million. There is also the potential to extend the contract by another five years to 2032.
