Milestone Infrastructure’s Cambridgeshire team was delighted to dig in, alongside our supply chain, during National Volunteer’s Week, to help improve the gardens at EACH (East Anglia's Children's Hospices), Milton.
As Milestone Cambridgeshire’s chosen charity for 2023/2024, our team worked closely with EACH to coordinate the revamp of the hospice garden. The Milton hospice is one of the three locations that provides safe, effective, and responsive care; ensuring the best possible quality of life, and making every moment count for children and families.
Earlier this year, our team volunteered to clean the garden compound of all the leaves that had been collected over the winter period. After learning how valuable the gardens were, acting as a safe space for the children, their families and the hardworking care team, our team were keen to return, with a goal to make the pond area more presentable and to repair the fences around the compound area.
Alongside our hardworking volunteers, we were thrilled to be supported by our supply chain partners, FM Conway, SP Landscapes and Rhino, who helped to donate both materials and time to the project.
By working collaboratively, we were able to exceed the hospice’s expectations by day two!
Throughout Milestone Infrastructure, we are committed to supporting the communities we live in, and we are delighted to see our teams carrying out initiatives such as this.

“I would like to say a huge thank you to the team from FM Conway who managed to extract most of the stagnant water from the existing pond which in turn has resulted in the pond starting to flow! This was no easy task with the distance from the lorry to the pond and then a safety fence to negotiate too. The guys on site remained cheerful and upbeat during several difficulties during the day and were a real asset to the team.
“Another huge thank you goes to the team from SP Landscapes who arrived on site nice and early, and rather than repair panels they replaced most of them around the compound area.
“Thank you also to Greg from Rhino UK, who gave up a day of his time on the Thursday to come along and help with the final push. The hospice was absolutely thrilled with the results.”

We truly appreciate the free materials and labour you all provided. As a charity we need to raise £16 million this year to provide our vital services.
