We are delighted to have been announced as the ‘Best Highways Infrastructure Construction & Maintenance Company’ at the SME News UK Transport Awards 2024, for our commitment to supporting Small To Medium Enterprises (SMEs).

As the UK’s number one highways maintenance provider by road km’s, we are proud to have been recognised for our commitment to safety, operational delivery, efficiency and outstanding customer service. Across our business, we understand that these things can only be achieved if we work collaboratively with those across the industry.

Over the last year, we have continued to ensure that we work collaboratively with our clients and our supply chain to identify common goals and achieve exceptional results. Within our Oxfordshire contract, we have developed the Framework Alliance Contract (FAC). Uniting client, contractor, and supply chain, the FAC provides an opportunity to optimise cost savings and carbon reduction. This joint approach has realised significant cost savings across the year totalling £1.028m and has saved 3,706 tonnes of CO2 equivalent (tCO2e), exceeding our stretch target of 2,829tCO2e.

These effective partnerships ensure better services for the public and enable our clients, supply chain and ourselves to provide this on a daily basis.

Local Small Medium Enterprise (SME) business’ form a major part of the service delivery model for our clients, as a core pillar of our social value approach. We are committed to working to provide smaller businesses with the ability to develop and grow themselves, as showcased through our SME Development Programme.

This award not only recognises our commitment to SMEs, but our further commitment to collaboration to unite client, contractor, and supplier, in delivering services in a cost effective and sustainable manner.

We’d like to thank SME News for this award and congratulate all other winners at the SME UK Transport Awards 2024.e
