We are delighted to share our industry leading Social Value report.
In 2023, we launched our Social Value Strategy, centred around four pillars, with associated focus areas aligning with the Government’s Social Value Model.
Over the last year, our teams from across each contract have worked hard to deliver social value within the communities in which they work- whether that be through Environmental Sustainability, Equality, Diversity and Inclusion, Local Economic Prosperity or Targeted Community Integration.
As the Head of Social Value at Milestone Infrastructure, I am incredibly proud to share our first ever Social Value Report with you, capturing just a small insight into what our teams have achieved over the last financial year.
Highlights show the growing levels of social value activities across Milestone Infrastructure, including:
- Our training achievements, with 84 people across our business in formal upskilling programmes, and over 12 courses available to our colleagues.
- The growth of our Women’s Network, which has achieved some incredible milestones over the past year, including being nominated at the Construction News & New Civil Engineer Inspiring Women Awards 2023, less than a year after formation.
- Our achievement of gaining PAS 2080 standard accreditation, highlighting our commitment to carbon management requirements.
- Across the year we have seen our colleagues from across contracts inspire the next generation at STEM events, including our recent takeover of a school in Hampshire.
"Throughout our report, we are pleased to focus on people- not only our own, but those who make up the communities in which we work. I hope that when reading this report, you feel the passion and engagement of all those who have contributed to delivering social value and continue to do so.
I look forward to reflecting on this report as we look to the future, extending our responsibility towards our Social Value Strategy over the next 12 months, and our overall commitment to creating safer, greener highways."
