Ahead of National Apprenticeship Week next week, we would like to congratulate our second cohort of apprentices who have recently completed their Apprenticeship Development Scheme (ADS).
Our ADS aims to provide our apprentices with additional development opportunities alongside their official apprenticeship standard.
The scheme, which runs over the course of two years, saw 10 of our apprentices, from our contracts across the UK, take part in several face-to-face workshops, alongside a one-week residential in Devon. The scheme saw the apprentices take part in a variety of activities, encouraging them to navigate through work-based challenges, focusing on mental wellbeing, as well as critical thinking.
As part of the scheme, the group of apprentices worked in small teams on a community project, enabling them to demonstrate and develop their teamwork and project management skills, as well as a chance to get to know the communities in which we work.
Once the community projects were complete, the apprentices had the opportunity to present their community projects to members of the Milestone leadership team.
All three groups performed extremely well, and it was clear how their projects have made a difference to them and the charities they supported.
Phil Raven, Head of Technical Design at Milestone Infrastructure, said: “It was an inspiring day, learning more about the community projects our apprentices have been working on - especially finding out about the challenges and setbacks they had encountered and how they had worked together as a team to overcome these.
“They were able to show how the project had developed their project management and presentation skills.? All the groups showed how they had made a real difference to their local communities in different ways, as well as encouraging team building within each of their offices. Well done!”
At Milestone Infrastructure, we are committed to attracting, developing, and retaining the next generation of highly skilled, forward thinking and technically competent people. We would like to congratulate all of our apprentices on their hard work and for completing the scheme.
