Milestone Infrastructure is delighted to announce that Macy Richards, Trainee Civil Engineer on the Oxfordshire contract, has been named Apprentice of the Year in the DfT Special Recognition Awards.
Announced at the Local Council Roads Innovation Group (LCRIG) Strictly Highways Conference, in Blackpool, Macy received the Apprentice of the Year award for her tremendous enthusiasm, communication skills and initiative.
Since joining Milestone in September 2020, Macy has not only shown talent through the projects that she has been involved in but has also been actively involved in several social value areas, supporting other staff and promoting engineering and apprenticeships in the wider community.
Macy’s enthusiasm for her role has been highlighted through her leadership of the ‘Graduate and Trainee Forum’, alongside her chairing of the contract’s ‘It Starts With Me’ wellbeing & charity working group, helping to organise many successful fundraising activities, from a Coronation cream tea to successful quizzes and raffles.
Speaking on Apprentice of the Year, Macy said: “I am delighted to have won this award and to have my hard work recognised. It was great to attend the Strictly Highways event, learning more about the sector and being exposed to some amazing female role models within the industry. However, this wouldn’t have been possible without the amazing support given to apprentices within the Oxfordshire contract.”
John Murray, Strategic Manager at Milestone Infrastructure, said: “We have a thriving early careers programme within Milestone Infrastructure and it is fantastic to see Macy engaging and contributing so much towards its ongoing success. We are incredibly proud of Macy’s achievements being recognised by LCRIG and the DfT and look forward to witnessing her ongoing development within Milestone. ”
At M Group Services, we are extremely proud of our Apprenticeship Scheme, which ensures we are attracting, developing, and retaining the next generation of highly skilled, forward-thinking, customer-focused, and technically competent people.
Congratulations to Macy on being recognised as Apprentice of the Year!
