Milestone Infrastructure is delighted to celebrate the one-year anniversary of its Women’s Network.
Established in September 2022, Milestone’s Women’s Network was formed after identifying a need to better support and provide opportunities for women across the business to connect.
Over the past year, the Women’s Network has showcased a positive impact on women and men within the business. This has been highlighted through its first major event on International Women’s Day 2023, the formation of networking opportunities such as its book club, as well as women’s personal-development workshops, something that attendees voiced the need for during the Network’s initial meetings.
The Network held its first online workshop in April and each workshop focuses on topics such as influence, confidence, career development planning and championing women. The Women’s Network has now run three and aims to run the last workshop within their ‘YOU – Your Own Unique’ series, by the end of this year.
This year, the Women’s Network has seen success with its shortlisting for the Construction News & New Civil Engineer Inspiring Women 2023: Women’s Network of the Year Award. This award nomination is a great achievement, achieved less than a year after formation, and the ceremony takes place on 10 October.
Over the next year, the Women’s Network intends to run more in person events, more workshops and training, while continuing to expand its reach within the business.
Speaking on celebrating the Network’s achievements over the past year, Walker Grevel, who leads the Women’s Network, said: "I am really proud of what the network has achieved in its first year and I look forward to our plans for 2024."
At Milestone, we understand the value and benefits a diverse workforce brings and that building truly inclusive environments empowers broader diversity across the business.
